Well…this definitely feels like something Chris Pratt would star in. After enjoying a mix of musical craze and wild visuals with “Guardians of the Galaxy”, Pratt is set to star in “Cowboy Ninja Viking”, a film based on a 2010 graphic novel by A.J. Lieberman.
The story certainly fits with Pratt set to play a man with multiple personality disorder who is put into a government program to be turned into a super-soldier with the attributes of a cowboy, a ninja and a viking. No none of that is a typo. That is the legitimate plot for the story. While I’m sure the tale could be a lot of fun, I’m not sure Pratt is diverse enough of an actor to play such a role. We’ll find out soon as the film has gotten a release date from Universal Pictures, the production company behind the film, for June 28, 2019.
It seems fitting that Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the screenwriters behind “Deadpool”, penned the script. Who better to tell another story of a man suffering from mental insanity who is made into a deadly weapon huh?
Several directors like Marc Forster and “John Wick” duo David Leitch and Chad Stahelski have been eyed to helm the film but no confirmation yet.
Pratt, Mark Gordon, Michael De Luca, and Guymon Casady will produce. Stay tuned!
